Undergraduate transfer students

Transfer in a Day

Our next Transfer in a Day program is scheduled for August 27, 2009 at Pierce Hall. However, you likely don't need to wait for Transfer in a Day in order to receive an admission decision as a transfer student. Apply online today, or call 800.GO.TO.EMU to schedule an on-site admission appointment and get your decision as soon as possible!

At this one-day program, you'll be able to:

  • Receive your admissions decision
  • Meet with an academic adviser (if admitted)
  • Register for classes (if admitted)

What you need in order to transfer:

  • Twelve or more college-level transferable credits from a community college or another accredited university or college
  • A cumulative college grade point average of a 2.0 or higher.
  • Official high school transcripts (only if you have less than twelve transferrable hours from a college or community college and are under 21 years old).

What you need to bring with you in order to be admitted:

  • Official transcripts from all institutions you have attended in sealed envelopes from those institutions. If you cannot obtain official transcripts, call 800-GO-TO-EMU to determine if you're still eligible to participate in the program.
  • A completed undergraduate application to EMU
  • An application fee (unless you applied and were admitted to EMU at an earlier time)

If you are scheduled for the morning session, you need to be on campus at 7:30 or 8:30 a.m. Afternoon appointments must arrive at 1:00 or 1:30. You will need to stay for the entire session (until noon for the morning group, and 5:00 for the afternoon group), as it will take time to process your documents, tabulate your credits, review your file and make an admission decision, advise and register you.

Note: This program is NOT for students who can be admitted without their current semester courses. If you already have 12 transferrable credits and a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA, apply online today!
