Assistant professor - Autism Spectrum Disorders

The Department of Special Education at Eastern Michigan University announces a tenure track Assistant Professor position available August 2009 in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; teaching online graduate courses; graduate advising; supervising graduate practicum students; conducting scholarly and service activities; working collaboratively in a team situation in a field-based training program.

Qualifications: Master's degree plus eighteen (18) hours; relevant school and community based experiences with children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Special Education or related field; teacher certification with special education endorsement; teaching experience in higher education; three years teaching experience or related service with persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders; knowledge and experience in behavior intervention, social skills development, Positive Behavior Support, Differentiated Instruction, etc.; knowledge and experience with assistive technologies for persons with special needs.
