Eastern Michigan University is proud to have a network of alumni across the nation dedicated to keeping graduates connected to the University and to each other. The Alumni Association has 24 chartered alumni chapters, and we are also building a network of alumni contacts in areas where a formal chapter doesn't exist.

Alumni Chapters

Alumni chapters are actively engaged in promoting Eastern Michigan University to alumni in their geographic area or among alumni of their affinity base. Means of engagement include regularly scheduled meetings and events, support of students through scholarship or other interaction, and close communication with the Office for Alumni Relations. Alumni chapters are chartered by the Eastern Michigan University Alumni Association and have a formalized structure for programming, publicity, finances and leadership.

There are three ways to become involved in the alumni chapter of your choice. First, you can obtain information on how to contact the chapter directly by viewing the chapter's web page via the drop down list at the top of this page. Second, you can call the Office for Alumni Relations to obtain the chapter's contact information. Or, when you submit your free EMU Alumni Association membership form you can indicate your chapter preference and we'll notify the chapter of your interest. Please note that some chapters charge membership dues while others are free to join. You'll find dues information on each chapter's web page.

Alumni Contacts

From time to time the Eastern Michigan University Office for Alumni Relations may plan to hold an alumni event in an area where there isn't an alumni chapter. Other times, alumni may be interested in starting a chapter, but the area may not be conducive to sustaining a chapter due to the size of the alumni population. In these cases, an alumni contact will assist the Office for Alumni Relations by serving as a host when a special event is planned within his or her designated area. Alumni contacts are individuals who are committed to being the voice of the Eastern Michigan University Office for Alumni Relations in their community, in the absence of a formalized alumni chapter. In addition to event assistance, alumni contacts also serve as a liaison to alumni in their area and may hold small informal events on an irregular basis.
