Advising
University Honors Students receive advising from Honors College advisors in the Honors office. Because Honors students need to arrange their schedules to include honors sections and activities, the college provides individualized advising designed to help students get the most of their EMU experience. Incoming Honors students are registered by honors advisors during their Fast Track visit. In addition all first year students must complete a registration appointment prior to registration for the winter term. Drop-in advising is available year round. Contact the Honors office for an appointment.
Students pursuing Departmental Honors receive advising from the Departmental Honors Advisor for their major program. Departmental Honors Advisors are Honors Affiliated Faculty members who are familiar with the requirements for both the Honors College and their home department. The Honors College also offers advising for students seeking national scholarships and fellowships, such as the Goldwater, Truman and Rhodes scholarships. Contact the Director of the Honors College for information about major scholarship competitions and for support in preparing applications.
