Emergency Management
When disaster strikes, will you be ready? Do you know what to
do at work and at home? Do you have a family plan? It’s
important for all of us to be prepared to take care of our families,
our homes, our campus community and ourselves. In Michigan,
whether it’s tornados, flooding or winter storms, it’s
not a matter of "if" a disaster will strike, but "when".
We face our share of natural disasters and we’re not immune
to human caused events.
Eastern Michigan University has an emergency preparedness
plan managed by the department of Environmental Health and Safety,
which is part of the Department of Public Safety. The plan is
designed to deal with readiness, immediate response, and recovery
in the event of any natural or man-made disaster on campus.
Eastern Michigan University is committed to
the safety and security of its students, faculty, and staff.
The safety of our campus community during an emergency requires
planning and awareness about how emergency plans will be implemented.
The purpose of this Web site is not emergency notification.
This is an education and information site to help you understand
how the University prepares for and responds to safety, health,
and weather emergencies. It also provides important information
about personal safety and how to respond to many different types
of emergencies. |
